Born in a small town of Qingdao, which is famous for its Qingdao Beer, I was raised within a traditional chinese family, where parents hold all their hopes to make their son/daughter become excellence, to go to college, or even to become a Ph.D. I was trained like a studying machine to pass the College entry Exam in the high school and it's truely not a pleasant time for all the high school students in china due to the severe competition. However, I met my future wife there, who was once sitting square of 2 meters in front of me.
The huge amount of math and physics courses filled me when I was a geophysics student at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Although those difficult lessons made me sit in studying room every day and night, they built up my interests in the Earth structure and seismology.
After I got the B.S. degree in Geophysics in USTC, I applied to graduate schools of USA and married and got an offer form Ed, who is the coolest and best professor I have met. So, here I am. Welcom to make friends with me.
